Sandra Blakemore


Sandra Blakemore is the Deputy Commissioner of Finance, Procurement & Energy for the City of Chicago’s Department of Assets, Information & Services. She is responsible for budget management and contract procurement for one of the City’s largest infrastructure departments. In addition, she leads the management and purchase of all the City’s utilities and fuel.
Sandra Blakemore grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Sandra received her B.A. with honors in Government from Harvard University. After graduation, she was a Rotary Fellow in Queensland, Australia where she received a graduate diploma in anthropology from James Cook University. She worked in consulting at a boutique firm in Washington, DC before enrolling at the University of Maryland for her M.B.A.

After business school, Sandra enjoyed a twenty-year career with Fortune 500 firms in brand
management before entering public service. Sandra led brands and innovation at Nabisco, Mars and ConAgra aFoods.  She has been the recipient of several awards from a Silver Anvil in Public Relations and ConAgra Brand of the Year. Ms. Blakemore serves on the Board of Directors for the Union League Club in Chicago.
